I've broken the lens in mine. Can you get replacements as a spare?

As temporary measure I'm thinking of using some helicopter tape to hold the broke pieces in position. If that fails would a homemade perspex/plastic lens just melt with the heat from the LED?

Dealextreme sell loads of different lenses - check the size / thickness and have a search on there, you might be lucky.

If I take my lens cover off the lens will shatter. Does anyone have a complete measurable one?

Cheers Smudge

I have nowt that will fit in the bastid over the p7 .

but you could just cut one from a cd case as a temp cover.
no it wont melt

I have some lexan sheet and can cut you one if you send me the diameter

1.5 mm or 2 mm thick

It'll probably be one of the standard torch sizes if you want a glass one, I'd just measure the diameter roughly and take a guess, they are quite cheap so it isn't like you're risking tons of money.

although a lexan one would presumably be less likely to break if you make a habit of breaking them.

Trout, you are a life saver. I measured the lens at 38mm in diameter and a bit more than 1mm thick. Its a bit tricky measuring something thats stuck together with tape, its a bit like the spectacle lens from the nurse in the Battleship Potemkin.

If you could make one, i'd be happy to pay for 3 or four in case something similar should happem again.

Bit of a hijacking... how long is the lead from the battery to the lamp on the bastid? Cheers.

I think it would fit into the top pocket of a camelback, I doubt it would stretch all the way from a jersey pocket to a helmet mount and still be useable, well maybe for plane spotting.
