Just been given this by a friend - should do me nicely for nipping about town.
Any tips for respraying/ ideas about where to buy some fresh handlebars?
Any ideas how old it might be?
Roadie bikes is an exciting new venture for me.. 😕

Late 80's from memory. A low end/entry level bike but for knocking about should be fine. If you want new bars you may need a new stem too, not sure if the bar/stem clamp is of a standard diameter. I think ITM still do 1" quill stems so a bar of theirs should do too.
