That is a great price from Winstanleys!

Edit - although Flows on Pro2s seem to be £258 (£99+£159)

Second Edit - just seen the front and rear at the lower price so ignore my first edit!

Or have a look at Wheelpro. £280, but Roger tensions and checks them and sets them up ready to run tubeless. Deal includes money off future rebuilds IIRC.

I got a set of 5.1Ds on Pro II's a month ago. Used my bike everyday from trials to commuting and they are solid. Paid £225 from Leisure Lakes (Bury). Could not prime match Winstanleys' completly but service is amazing.
Get the Hope Hoops, you cant go wrong. Sound really cool with the buzzing too.

Its going to be hard to compete with the Winstanley's price but defintely worth considering going to Roger at http://www.wheelpro.co.uk/ . Nice bloke and loads of experience of all things wheel related: he will fully inspect the Hope Hoops, install Stan's Yellow tubeless tape and a tubeless valve.

On his website all it looks like he does is retail hope hoops and tweak the factory build a bit.

What rims for a hardtail/short travel full sus?

depends what you weigh and where/how you ride, if you're light and nimble 355's are a good choice for XC trails

I'm not exactly light or nimble, I'm 14 stone and I have a tendency to force the bike through things without a great deal of finesse.

Go with the flows or 5.1's then. Take about a week to deliver from winstanleys as they are not in stock.

roger at wheelpro fits rim tape and valve for tubeless
and checks rims individually
well worth the few quid extra, and he will rebuild them if you ding a rim for a good price

I am not sure if I am being dopey but I can't find the pair on winstanleys, all I can see are individual wheels and the pair add up to much more than £228

You might be looking at the straight pull ones instead of the standard.

richc - Pro2s with Flows seem to be on the page twice - the cheaper ones are lower down the page (if you search for all Hope stuff)

Make sure when you order from Winstanleys that you chase them up weekly as it reminds them to place the order with their supplier. I waited a month for mine and the same for my Pikes.

Useless but cheap

hubs are great, i'd choose the right rims for your riding though. avoid DT4.2's if you ride hard/clumsy/heavily - ime.

Another recommendation for Wheelpro, great service and good advice over the 'phone when I ordered mine. Can't go far wrong with Flows on Pro IIs regardless of where you order them from.

The yellow tape and 2x valve's Roger includes in his service are worth £24 alone.

Wheelpro is well worth the extra few bob, ime.

No they're not. JRA sell them for a total of 21 quid. Less if you get the narrower yellow tape.
