I'm getting a bit confused looking at the roof box site and wonder if you could share your kniwledge.
I have a new car and the square Halfords bars I have won't fit the roof. My 591's have the U-bracket on the bottom that grip the square bars.
Can you fit the 591's to other brand aero bars? Do I need to buy T-fittings? Which ones?
Thanks!
What car is it?
You can either buy some square bars for it and your 591 will fit those.
Or buy newer fashionable aero bars with T track for more £. You will need the T bolts and lever clamps that will have originally come with your 591.
If you have lost them then you need parts
2x 50551 lever without lock
1x 34357 lever with lock
And then 3x T bolts to suit your bars, 50335 or 50336
Just google "thule" and the part number to find suppliers.
Some T track bars do need bigger T bolts, you will have to see what the score it with the bars. T bolts are cheapish.
I have fitted Thule 591 to Thule, VW and Porsche genuine racks no worries.
This might explain the parts assembly better
Actually you should have the levers....
So you just need 3x T bolts
Youll be fine with the u clamps, ive fitted them to loads of bars no problem as long as you avoid those really wide whisper bars.
The t fittings are a bit easier and neater but ive never bothered, tbh i cant really tell any noise difference once youve got a bike or kayak strapped onto the bars so i just get square ones.
Just FYI - The U clamps don't fit round my aero bars; they were too wide. I had to shell out for the larger T bolts to fit my racks.
