im off up to cannock at the weekend and i just wanted to find out what other riding there is to do up there apart from follow the dog??
i used to ride up there every week untill about 4 years ago so got a reasonable idea on the lay of the land.
we used to park in a car park at the bottom of the old english way ??
there was iirc a lot of riding over by the rifle butt/quarry??
can anyone refresh my memory for me and give me an idea on whats over there now!!

well the dog has got bigger but apart from that nothing has really changed , should be a mud fest after all this rain, hopefully i'm going up this sunday for a quick spin,
If you havent been up the Chase for 4yrs then some of the trails you probably knew are probably no longer there due to Forestry activities, new trails have appeared but there is no connected 'loop' of single track. I am talking about the 'Valley side' not the dog side of the chase (Marquis Drive)..
A lot of riders that are not doing the dog park on the Car Park opposite the White House (now a Baptist Church).. It may be better for you to see if you can follow some of the said riders as there is more chance they will be going over the 'best bits' of the valley.. you could also ask on the 'ChaseTrails.co.uk forum' if anyone is riding
I went up on Thursday evening and some of the trails on the "valley side" have been destroyed due to logging ect... Shame really. It was reasonably dry over there as well. Just go mooching.
