As above!......
Come from an On-One Inbred, 40mm rise bars, short stem - loved it, comfy and handled well. Now got myself a Nukeproof Mega have put my 40mm rise bars on and I feel miles away from the front wheel (I know I've got more travel and a slacker head angle) and a bit "lofty". As I've got 1.5" steerer forks the headset is external adding about 30mm to the headtube stack.
Q's:
Other than adjusting riding position and aiding comfort what does the rise achieve?
The trend seems to be going wide and flat for the steep stuff, does this "pin" the front end in more?
I ride pretty hard all over the Peaks, Trail Centres and would bracket myself in the (very?) aggressive XC, wanting to go more all-mountain category.
I've got 38mm rise Warhead bars on order.....do I switch them for 20mm rise or flat ones?
Think I would prefer less "loft".....probably just answered my own question!..... but a more definitive/technical answer on the implications of overall front end height (is this what is meant by "stack"?) would be interesting.
Cheers,
Kev
