I have my Origional Orange Clockwork in the cellar and to be honest while I love the bike, I don't ride it. It's a 1989 version so V brake only but is does have 2003 MX comp forks fitted (1" Steer) and I always wanted to put a pair of kona Project 2 forks on it, am I going to enjoy the experience or is it one of those things best left in the memory.
I did try a set of Orange Aluminum forks which were appaulingly stiff and painfull to ride with so should I just keep it as it is or go back to a fully rigid bike.

Do it. See what the chubbiest tyre you can get in the P2 and get back to basics! Al forks are notorious.

Why wouldn't you? If the bike is there anyway, and you're not going to be stuck with only one terrible bike if you don't like rigid, then go for it. I recently put rigid forks on my old Kona as a commuter, and it's great fun. I had horrible memories of P2 forks, but I've even been taking it on rougher trails on my commute home.

IME P2 forks were pretty harsh. If you want the rigid experience get some exotic carbon ones.

My 97 (C17) clockwork is currently fully ridgid with Exotic carbon forks & singlespeeded – I love riding it and always have it the most fun and chuckable bike I’ve had – always come back with a big grin
