Hi there, I've been finding the 2010 tech x2 set-up front and rear a bit underpowered on long rocky descents on my heckler. Thinking therefore of upgrading the front to M4. What I'm not sure is whether it is worth buying a whole new system with the evo lever, braided hose and calliper or simply buying a new M4 front calliper and fitting it to my existing set-up with older tech levers and braided hose. I don't know how easy it is to do this or whether the newer evo system has much more to offer? Thanks for your thoughts.
If you can afford it, go for a complete system, the evo's a more efficient design (think it's got a lower leverage ratio too, so feels more powerful), and you may find it easier to sell on a complete system rather than the caliper.
Go for the system, sell the old one and you'll make back a fair bit...
Probably no need for a new disc, which will save some pennies!
I use X4/X2, great combo, tons of power.
Sounds like a plan. With the deals on crc the system is selling for around £120. Not heard anyone have any negative thoughts about the m4/x2 combo. Cheers
