a fox f29r forkm with 80mm of travel can be tinkered with to get 100mm travel.
can a fox f29r fork with 100mm travel be tinkered with to get 120mm of travel.
anyone know please.
i think it may be ton but not wise without longer stanchions
I've changed my F29 RL 80mm fork to 100mm in the past by removing the spacer but that is because the F29 80mm and 100mm fork are basically the same product, a 120mm F29 fork is different as it is a little heavier due to a beefed up crown and longer stanchions and 15QR
i've read on mtbr that someone has removed the plastic spacer and also moved the pin-set stop back to the other hole in the stem and the the shock stretched out to 120mm but whether this risks not having enough support through the bushings i do really do not know
thanks mate.
further investigations needed i think.
