Hoogelandt was the guy who ended up in the fence. Flecha got sideswiped and that took out Hoogelandt too.

Jeez, that looked nasty, poor guys. Hope they're both OK and the driver gets fired instantly.

Flecha was favourite to win the stage out of that breakaway, best sprinter in that group of 5 by far. Sky have had some rotten luck in this Tour. ๐Ÿ™

Guess JAF will just float back into the main bunch now. Hoogerland back on the bike - incredible! He's suffering though.

What an idiot driver. What's the betting there will be a lot fewer narrow roads in next year's race?

Blood, sweat and gears. It always is! That contador video is pretty dubious as well. Surely Saxobank would have protested if Contador was actually attacked.

Can't believe Hoogerland's riding his bike after that! #realmenridebikes.

Magnus Backstedt on Twitter just now:

Hoogerland is a hard man! Respect to get back up after that! I hope he can continue! #suetheshitoutofthedriver someone should pay for that!

Hoogerland is pouring blood, he's just gone out the back of the main bunch along with Flecha. Looks like they'll both just roll in and hope they make the time cut...

Sticky bottles are similar to magic spanners.

When the team car hands you a bottle and it takes about 30 seconds. Basically the rider getting a bit of a push.

Stupid idiot was trying to squeeze through with two wheels on the verge, having either under estimated the closing gap as the tree stuck out or he hadn't even registered it!

For the riders sake I hope they both finish the stage & the driver is charged with reckless driving & endangering life.

Bridges are one of the things the French do very well indeed.
Unlike their driving, it seems.

One of the attractions of the tour coverage for me is the helicopter shots of chateau, bridges etc.

TBH I doubt I'd watch it otherwise. I'd just watch the highlights.

Elfin - we may disagree on Millar but at least we both appreciate good architecture. Also I beat you to it by a few seconds. ๐Ÿ˜‰
