With that much torque going thro the drive train, maybe the wheel got pulled sideways against the stay?

I don't think they run horizontal drop outs..

this kind of pace doesn't bode well for Cav, lets hope it has the same effect as yesterday.

You can still pull the wheel - I've done that before.

How? And where? Unless you snap the skewer or bend the stays or something..

Sastre - 2008

Ah - fairy nuff, had thought it was a lot longer ago than that. Though checking back I realise why I hadn't thought of him, and could clarify the question to the last time the winner got awarded another major jersey in Paris, in which case the answer appears to be Hinault, and strangely enough he also won the points. Unless I've missed one, the last time the overall winner also got awarded the KOM in Paris was Mercx in 1970!

(wikipedia suggests Sastre was never actually awarded the jersey)

Not just the French. Anyone but a Spaniard, an Aussie or a Lumxemburger will be cheering him on loudly!

In an ambulance? Hats off to Voeckler, proper heroics. Deserves to win based on popularity and determination alone.

"Only" 5km to top - can TV hang on at a small enough gap and catch on the down? Wouldn't put it past him taking a minute.

Edit: seem to have spoken too soon - looks like Tommy's best bet right now is to drop back to the group behind.

No, not with Contador descending with a group.

Also he's completely gone, he just hasn't realised it yet.

Tommy sat up - has a couple of team-mates there though. Got to stand a chance if they get enough over the top interested in working together.

Cadel working heroically from what I can see (online stuff only, no TV), feel confident he will drive his group to catch the leaders, he's pushing them bloody hard! ๐Ÿ˜ฏ

2mins + at least. He's got to buffer in a possible puncture or other mishap as well as his lack of TT prowess.

TV finally goes out the back.

Huge Chapeau Tommy, finally a Frenchman who doesn't understand the word "surrender".
