I had a ride around the Neroche Herepath XC route on my gravel bike the other day, and noticed some signage for trails in the Wych Lodge woods.
Are they worth bringing my MTB along for? If so which (Wych ๐Ÿ˜‰ ) trails are best?
Cheers.

That's useful, cheers.
Trails free to use, but donations welcome. Good call ๐Ÿ™‚

I had a quick look after work today on my drop-barred 29+...probably not the most appropriate bike, but the 2 trails I went on were short, but fun.

I'll head back with my hardtail sometime soon.

I've not been up there for a while but I work with one of the team (chap behind the first set of text in the link above) and he is always up there digging or riding. They have done loads of work over the last year.

The last time I rode up there it was fun even as a work in progress, although there were features way past my aging ability. I used to regularly add Scratchy McBitey onto my herepath loops which runs adjacent to the main part down to the lake. I think that is the most established trail there.

Yep, that was one I did today.

Also had a look at a couple of side trails in Thurlbear woods. Couldn't work out if they were actually singletrack or just deer/walker paths.

I don't know if there are restrictions on where you can ride in thurlbear, but there aren't any bike trails.

I occasionally ride down the track to the left (looking down the main track from the gate at the top) with my daughter, which is very much like a walker/deer track so sounds like you went down that one.
It is proper narrow in places between the trees but can be quite funny and she likes it because I can't go too fast on it (because my bars don't fit through all of the gaps!).
