Changing my T129 from SRAM to Shimano and confused by what I need on the rear mech. Running the standard 2x10 it came with but unsure if I need direct mount or not. Don't actually know what direct mount is.

Anyone help?

'Direct mount' is the front mech, surely?

Yep. Direct mount is for the front. If you want to run a shimano rear mech you will have to also change the front shifter. Then you are into issues as the T129 runs an integrated bar mount with SRAM brakes/shifter so you will need to find some way to attach it all to the bars.

There is direct mount for the rear as well, Shimano proprietary. By default the derailleur is compatible with a normal hanger; by removing the last knuckle it can be mounted "directly" on a swept-back hanger. You shouldn't care about this unless you already have the Shimano DM hanger and want to run a SRAM derailleur, in which case it won't work.

For mating Shimano shifters with SRAM brakes you should be able to use an adapter, although it doesn't look like one is available for I-Spec II yet.

Whole lot is going Shimano. Hate Avid brakes and not getting on with SRAM shifters.
