Ahh - major mechanicals!

Have serviced my Pikes and was in the process of sorting out my wobbly rear wheel, when on taking the axle apart the axle DID come apart (well, was broken before obviously...!)

The part i need is the axle shown here, and also for sale here.

So - does anyone going tomorrow have an XT 775 rear hub axle rebuild kit, or live close to SBR and could pick one up for me??
My only other wheel is a half build SS one, so that's out!

If I don't manage to source one, it'll be game over for DrP 🙁

DrP I have a XT756 hub sat in front of me. Will the axle from that do?

Or I could bring a rear wheel tomorrow, Crossmax SL running some interesting summer rubber.

I too have a spare rear wheel and I can bring my tools to switch your casette over as well. (what size rear disc do you run?) I'll stick a tyre on it. Let me know...... 🙂

This had better be a good ride now that I've been out and bought some waterproof shorts especially for it...! 🙂

Anyone need a lift? Heading out of Southampton at about 8:30am with one spare seat and room for one bike.

I am really looking forward to this! Spent the afternoon cleaning the bike bus. Bike is ready to go, all lubed up. Ladder is packed(for the erection of the STW banner), picking up lanky mate(to help with banner) in a few hours. Might even bake some cookies for the ride! Does anybody need a lift? We are leaving Hertfordshire around 8am if interested.

Went for a XC ride at Swinley today, so much fun in the wet. Going to get the bigger bike out for tomorrow as fancy a bit of a play. I will be the one already covered in mud.

My brain is not working at the moment so could anybody tell me what time I need to bring the banner? It won't be as pretty as I wanted it to be due to family-related complications we've recently had but will say Singletrack in colourful font(s). Can somebody bring a string/rope so we can hang it, please?

HC - I think meeting up is from 9 for a bacon roll and a fettle for the ride to start at 10.30. But Im sure coordinator CG will confirm your duties and timings.

Ooooh, I'm trying to catch up!

Bad luck to those who can't make it and I have only two words to say to RudeBoy - "girl's blouse 😉

OK, I will hunt for some string to bring along, not sure where the banner will go but hopefully the car park will be devoid of sensible souls.

Reminder 0- have you bought your permits online yet?

https://sslrelay.com/www.mbsawebsite.com/sess/utn;jsessionid=154aec99f7dca8c/shopdata/index.shopscript

Food - Cafe open from 9.00 am for bacon rolls, fried egg rolls, tea, coffee.

Discount voucher - yep, a 15% discount voucher to be used at Mountain Trax in Wokingham. Great shop with loads of bling and good selection of demo bikes. Please see me, I will also have them them with me at lunch time.

Looking forward to this one, there's 3 of us coming up from Worthing for it. Hoping to be there by 10 so don't eat all the bacon rolls 😉

Dobo: me too! SS and summer tyres is this season's must-have look! Complete it with soggy baggies as wet people in skintights gets me in to trouble with the feds... 😉

Now, which bike to take?

Hardtail with slippy slidy summer tyres, or full sus with the best part of 7" both ends?!?!

Do I win a prize for either if it's the most unsuitable bike/tyre of the day? 😛

Oooohhh, should I bring my ss? Normally only ride it when on solo rides cos I'm a bit, er, vocal 😯

Summer tyres ... you know it makes sense. Swinley trails was really good on Thursday - it has its own micro-climate dontchaknow 😉

Are people still planning to turn up if it is pissing down with rain?

On another note, is anyone driving from South London? (Around New cross area) I hate taking my bike on the train...

Define "pissing"

I'm turning up whatever... Seriously, it's been a while since I've been on a laugh of a forum ride, think it'd have to be a monsoon to make me not wanna ride!

That's the spirit, mboy!

I've never been on a forum ride and have never ridden my new bike off-road so, despite this (http://www.metcheck.com/V40/UK/FREE/warnings.asp) and a wonky route on the train, I shall defo be there!

I'm sacking it off if it isn't biblical. There's nothing worse than dry, dusty trails. Mountain biking is about MUD dammit 🙂
