The weather on Sunday is starting to look biblical! I will be happy to help out as I know the area quite well. May I suggest mud tyres!?!

Yes it could be a washout if we're unlucky. It has to be said if it's really bad I'll be staying at home, because I'm only coming to take pics and rain will kill that. We'll see.....

well in a bizzare twist i may come along to this if the weather is looking as bad AndyRT says. the lordswood one was wetter than wet and still good fun.

Mud tyres will not be required. Spare brake pads possibly.

And a big dose of MTFU will not go a miss either.

Podster are you listening? 😀

Pete, I can ride better, quieter trails closer to home than Swinley, so I'm only coming for giggles and pictures. As such, if the weather is biblical we might stay home. I'll decide on the day....... 🙂

I'm new to the forum, so hello all 😀 This all sounds amazing, I love Swinley, and my biking bud is away on hols, so I'll def be there on Sunday, on my Johnny-no-mates lonesome. Bung me down as an intermediate and I'll see how bad the hangover is come Sunday morning... 🙂

Just to advise that pre-booking/registering is not necessary. The sight of C_G with a clipboard in her bossy-boots guise would frighten everyone away 😯

Mr Poddy - get your ar$e over to Swinley, haven't you got a new camera especially to record this state occasion 😉 I hope Mrs Poddy is coming?

mrmichaelwright - you are joining in the fun aren't you? You sound like good entertainment value 😉

Niche bikes - we have one contender so far, the legendary WCA 🙂

Weather forecast - Metcheck are more reliable, light rain only apparently. We don't get monsoons at Swinley.

evade - hope you can join in the fun.

Got to admit, for me it depends on the weather. I might be a pussy, but going out in heavy rain doesn't really work for me. If it rains while I'm out, different story.

What is niche about my bike?

I thought it was pretty average for this forum.

Anyway, I can't be bothered to read the whole thread but can someone summarise what is happening. It is going to rain on Sunday - is that the news?

I only ride because I enjoy it, and I'm only coming to Swinley to take pics and say hi to people....
If it's going to be pissing down with rain all day, I won't enjoy it (And yes I DO have the right clothing...) and it's a waste of time getting the camera out.

Like I said, at the minute the forecast could change and it'll be worth coming along. I'll get ready to come, but I'll be deciding based on what the rainfall radar shows at 9am Sunday morning.
It's not as though I'm short of riding time. I'll have ridden 6 out of the previous 7 days by then.... 🙂

Niche is good 🙂

Mulletus - will do 🙂

Everyone - had a little wuss ride at Swinley today and, my oh my, the conditions were good 8) I had such fun

Polite request - can the weather system stay as it is please. Bit more sunshine would be super.

Reminder - don't forget to purchase your day permit on line. Saves faffing which means more time for a second breakfast. Mmmm bacon sizzle sizzle 😆

"I am delighted to report that RudeBoy will be coming"

Apparently only if it doesn't rain otherwise he is staying under the duvet even after persuading us to go along.....

DrP,
Have just spoken to Rusty Trowel and he's not sure whether you're still planning to share a lift on Sunday. He can't email as he's just moved house so no internet yet. I believe you have his mobile number. He definately going regardless of the weather.

Hmmmm, due to car being left kaputt at work, I might struggle to make this. I am at the mercy of a mate. As a backup, any possibility of a lift share from near Salisbury?
