Hi all, after some advice, was thinking of trying swinley forest, but I have no idea of where to start finding my way around, the maps that I have seen just seem to show the lookout and start of area, any tips clues ! Do things link back in a circuit or am I likely to end up miles from the start point ? Looking for good singletrack.

Register on strava, check out the maps from there, there's loads of tracks...
Best thing to do is just go and ride it, your only lost when you try to get back and there will be loads of locals to ask for directions. Worst case you will be 20 mins from the lookout. Best way to start is head to the lookout car park and take the alternate entrance into the woods from Go Ape, this way you are likley to see more of the single track within the first 5 mins. Enjoy

It has a map that has proved very useful and accurate. Love the riding there. Got lost on my first trip but there are plenty of locals to point you in the right direction!
