Picked up a couple of Turner Cyclosys in the states to ride whilst on holiday. Had a couple of glitches but not too bad considering what could've gone wrong with timed delivery to a hotel in Napa.
Not a huge issue but brakes have come USA style, and as this is my first ever cx bike, or road type bike for that matter... Is swapping the levers a faff? I assume unlike a mtb I can't just swap the leaves around as the right lever has the gears attached to it?
Am I correct in assuming I've got to completely untape the bar and remove the brake lines, bleed and refit?
Got used to it and probably wouldn't attempt whilst on holiday but just in case there is an easy way I thought I'd ask.
yes, you'd have to unwrap the bars as far as the hoods and swap the hoses over etc. That's the price of having them tidily routed under the bar tape unfortunately
If you are careful you can rewrap the bars with the same tape usually.
It's sometimes possible not to need to re-bleed
