I ran into a chap who had vanilla internals in float lowers. Is this the same for TALAS and if so, is it easy to do and where do you get them?

Cheers
Rich

Hi Rich, yes you can swap from Talas to Vanilla, bear in mind though you can swap back as the spring will mark the sealing surface inside the leg.
From memory it will cost around £90 for the parts which I can supply, drop me a mail for definitive costs e.t.c

Thanks Loco. About to buy some 2nd hand talas and wanted to check if I can convert because I might be moving to geneva. No quite ready yet. Is it a similar cost to swap from 2011 float 36 rlc to talas?

I had my 08 Talas converted to a Float fork by MOJO
cost me £ 70 quid so give MOJO a call.

I had this done one month back
MOJO sent the Talas parts back incase i want it
returned to a Talas

Grantway,

Was there a big improvement in performance?

Oh god mate yep Had my Talas from new and they stuck once in 160
and stayed at full lock out even though they had no lock out function on them.
Best £ 70 quid i spent on my bike really to be honest
and less to worry about on the trails,
nice and plush now and more fun.

Talas internals well over 100 quid if I remember right. I've got a very little used 2009 Talas cartridge and top cap assembly for sale if anyone is interested (I changed to float as I never reduced the travel - personally did not notice any difference in quality of travel).
