I've just built up a new frame. All is well apart from the formerly silent bottom bracket now clicks like mad now it is in the new frame/ I've checked I've not over tightened it or owt and the cranks turn smoothly so I was just wondering if it is just a case of bedding it in again perhaps?

Any help much appreciated.

It really shouldn't do that. Should not need to be bedded in either. Perhaps a piece of debris caught in it? I'd take it out check it and replace it

Hmmm, went out for an hour and it does seem to have stopped? I think I'll get hold of a new one just in case though. Cheers for that TJ

If it was a creaky click it probably wasn't tight enough. I wouldn't worry about over-tightening a BB too much, they get incredibly tight from pedalling anyway.

Just realised you probably meant over-tightening the preload thingy, not the cups. I was talking about the cups.
