Where can I get some shims from? I am thinking about experimenting with the shim stacks on my shock and to do that I need shims.

Please don't tell me its impossible and too dangerous because I probably will ignore you. I want my pro pedal to be firmer and when I change the oil I will use a heavier weight to help with that but I am also thinking about re shimming it. The pro shops do it so apart from knowledge (which can and will be gained) there arnt any reasons why I cant.

Thanks in advance.

LoCo

I didn't want to email you direct again you have helped me plenty already but its a DHX Air with the old PP dial not the switch like the new ones.

I have the PP all the way on and it firms the shock up a bit from it being off but not that much, I am probably over the weight that it is set up for too so that wont help.

If I'm right the std oil is 10wt and I'm thinking 15wt will make it a bit firmer. Plus I don't think the shock has had a service for some time and there is a possibility of air in the oil so the above might be fine but I'm getting shims in my head so I can research them.

AhA! it you ! ๐Ÿ˜€ don't use heavier oil. You need to look at the shims on the piston, leave the propedal area of thing alone ๐Ÿ˜‰ I'm not saying anymore.

Righty o. I guess by your lack of comment that it is 10wt oil I should be using glad I asked not because that saves me from messing around with the PP.

Im quite looking forward to this job.

But where do I get the shims from? I'm guessing my lbs or B&Q wont do them will a normal motorbike shop sell them?
