Loads of trails around here are being smoothed out and covered in gravel.
Anyone else had a go at trying to get the council to stop?
Everyone says someone else is responsible. Then they spout some we have to look after the bridleways rubbish.
The best local downhill has been got at, at a cost of £25000.
Nice to know that in this recession priorities are still being kept.
Where, I havent noticed?
I did spot that the path down from the tower @ Leith Hill to starvale carpark had recently had some work done to improve the surface. However I am guessing that isnt what your referring to as the best local DH......
Tracks on Reigate Hill, Epsom Downs and Godstone.
Yeah I've only noticed it on the main footpaths such as JPcapel has posted but I figured that was necessary for the old dears and since it gets so much traffic...
EDIT: ah I see...
Panic over, I thought you meant the "proper" surrey hills.
Sigh of relief, its only Reigate/Epsom/Godstone rubbish bits- thew! 😆
+1 😉
Mr Capel your tracks will be next.
Ps not everyone wants to spend 3/4 hour driving somewhere to ride their bike.
Ooh which bits on Reigate Hill? - I've not been out in a while (on hols and focusing on swimming)Not as good as Leith/Holmbury etc but you can't beat riding from the door....
The route up from Gatton and a lot of tracks on the other side of the a25 at the bottom.
you speaking from experience? Some great riding in those areas and NDW, not so crowded either.rubbish bits
There used to be a techy, rocky descent to a stream (near to Devil's Punchbowl) which was always fun to ride and had a couple of large-ish drops. You could ride a road bike down it now 🙁
Allthepies - yep know the one and tragic. The most times I've shouted the C word was when I rode down the "improved" version of this for the first time!
