Headed out to Dorking from London (a bit late, didn't get there till midday) and rode up to Leith Hill for a play around in the snow, was well worth the effort! Only saw two other riders out and about, lot's of unridden snow to be found, probably around 4-6" I guess? First ever ride out in a snowy landscape, really enjoyed it: the crunch and crackle of your wheels, the silence of the woods when you stop to catch your breath, the amount of slippy slidey fun to be had; all these things and more added up to be [b]my best ride of the year[/b], loved it! 8)

And a comedy off video for your entertainment... only had my compact camera with me, thought I'd try and shoot a wee little video on it, had to ride one handed with my right hand hanging down low to capture the shot... not very fast, but quite a bit of fun 🙂

Wow, I was there a couple of days before it started snowing and the place looks unrecognisable! Summer Lightning must have been tough going in the snow.

Wasn't too bad really, snow packed down pretty well and was only 3-4" in most places so your tyres found solid ground easily enough. Wouldn't want to be visiting for a while once this snow melts, it's going to be a bog up there!

Good idea 🙂 It's actually the track that plays in my head when I watch it 😆 Whilst riding around though, I had 'Good King Wenceslas' on constant 'earworm loop' for the whole ride - [i]'when the snow lay round about, deep and crisp and eeeeven!'[/i]
