Ok, so Surly have finally relented and stuck discs on the Cross Check.
STI levers as well.

But they've added £600 to the bloody price.
Yup, £1600 for a cro-mo framed bike with a 105 groupset.

I suppose we've become used to comedy pricing over the last few years, but this really is taking the piss.
I believe this was the meeting finalising the price of the complete bike:

It's up there with the Genesis Grapil (that ended well, didn't it?) and anything from Orange in the 'these idiots will pay anything' stakes.

Could you really ever look at yourself in the mirror ever again after handing over full price for one of these?

Shame. Looks like a nice bike.

A free envelope of blancmange through the post for anyone who can find a worse example of stitch up pricing.

Must look at doing a Kaffenback 105 build.

if you're already doing the PX carbon xls with 105 + discs for £999 then a kaffenback will be a steel

sic.

🙂

Would be £899 I guess. Hmm.
Not sure how much 105 we have left.

I give you the All City Macho Man, which is a similar beast but without discs, for the same price.

Vanilla blancmange, please.

Anyway: just buy the frameset?

Surlys pricing for 4130 is eye opening for sure with the new models.
