[Closed] Surgical spirit in place of isopropyl alcohol?

Anyone used surgical spirit to soak the little foam insert things in forks in place of isopropyl alcohol when doing a service?

Don't soak the foam rings in IPA or surgical spirit. It will kill the foam, or it did when I tried it anyway. Just squeeze some fresh oil through them to clean them.
