Does anyone use this chainguide? Wondering if this could be used for a bit more "all mountain" riding than just xc or would I be better off with a guide with a bottom runner too. The savings on cost and weight are substantial.

I use it, never dropped the chain. 36 tooth Renthal - if it matters? Very cheap but well made IMO 🙂

I have one. Pretty good, light but needed a little corrective surgery to get it to work properly with a single+bash.

happy with mine. required a bottom guide in the alps though - chain would fall off bottom of the ring, then i'd backpedal (involuntarily) and it'd be a right faff to get it back up through the guide.
