Anyone know any alternative freehubs (preferably steel) that are compatible with the Superstar Components V3 hubs?
Unlikely I'd have thought, freehubs are generally not interchangeable. Do yourself a favour and change the hub, they (the V3) are absolutely shite. Bearings are awful, freehub cuts up when it so much as looks at a cassette and the pawl springs are made of paper.
Thanks, was asking gor a mate. Thought that might be the case but was hoping they might have used a catalogue part like some of the older hubs. I might have a play and see if I can make a new freehub body in steel.
Cut up body ? Alloy does this unless you get the cassette torqued up properly. Bearings are a doddle to replace on most freehubs.
The V3 and V6 were in-house designed and manufactured so unlikely to match any other brands
