Anybody got the essentials wheelsets on sale in 15/142mm care to share if the ultralite switch front hub is the "OLD PUSHFIT TYPE" or the "NEW THREADED TYPE" (they have different caps which are not cross compatible).

Cheers

I think they're threaded. I couldn't get 'em out by just pulling them out like I can with my other Superstar Hubs. Makes sense now as there's 4 holes that I assume a tool locks into.

Was going to add grease to the bearings but when I opened up the rear they were packed full anyway so left it at that.

Thanks for that.

From what I get you should have removed the threaded retainer ring first:

"OLD PUSHFIT TYPE - Remove adaptor, the bearing bore is smooth

NEW THREADED TYPE - Remove adaptor, the bearing bore is threaded. 15mm adaptor has threaded retainer ring, QR is pushfit but is different to allow for threads."

We are clearing our entire stock so both are in the offer depends on what we have left. If you have a specific wheel set number email and ask. We don’t have a list as things are moving so fast

I bought these wheels and a QR adapter for the front. I can't work out how the 15mm caps come out. Is there a tool for the 4 holes or can you get them out another way?

Hi Neil superstar, I emailed you, btw in order of preference it would be the sentinel 29er wheelsets (#5 or #1) or the 29er TR21 ( #81 etc.).

@ gordon

I guess this would help? https://www.superstarcomponents.com/en/switch-ultralite-front-hub-pin-tool.htm
