Ride regularly on and offroad, about 4 times per week for around 80 miles per week at varying intensities.

Have had a mega runny nose all week. Not sleeping well - usually 7-8hrs per night, more like 6hrs this week. Tightness at top of calves and soreness on outside of knees all week. Have been stretching and rollering and eating healthy.

Went out to do an easy 50 miles on the road with 800m ascent and quickly died after 30mins of easy Z2 spinning. Decided to spin super slow all the way home after just 1hr15m. HR 124avg and 154max. Usually on a ride like that it would be 140avg and 165max. So significantly lower.

What's going on?

You're ill.

Hay fever with allergy related asthma......my hay fever and as a result asthma a been bad the past week too, causes cramping and if I'm not actually wheezing I get a feeling of exhaustion......couple of puffs on the magic blue inhaler and hey presto the woolly feeling clears!
If you're not taking any antihistamines try taking one whilst the pollen levels are so high and see if that helps, it certainly won't harm you to give it a try.

Have you been bitten by a tick recently?
Or you are just ill!
I had a similar thing for about 2 months earlier this year, turned out I had a virus. It went after a while.

Did you consume a superhuman amount of pizza last night and then spend the entire night rolling around in bed like a sweaty beached whale not getting any sleep?

^ Seems to have reduced me to a barely able to pedal mess this morning ๐Ÿ™

You're probably either still ill or just getting over something, have a rest!

I'm never as strong if I've not had enough sleep. Really rather annoying.
