having ridden Maxxis High Rollers for so long its hard to think of something that is just as good, but wont hurt the wallet,
at £70 for two maxxis dual ply tyres, i really cant justify it, so im on the hunt for some good all mountain tyres that are reasonably priced, say £25 each,

Look at Specialized tyres.
Butchers are another option to the Eskars mentioned above.
Specialized tyres seem fairlygood value. they do some in a 1.5 cAsing too i think
Nevegal is reliable and cheap, I love mine.
Must be something in't sales. I always just get whatever's on special offer at the time. I've never paid full RRP for a flipping tyre; one of the biggest cons in an already grossly overinflated market.
I do love the spesh eskars but if you need to get them in the armadillo casing for A M use as the s works one are useless . I had two of them fail on me with the side walls splitting , and I'm not really doing AM just rocky tracks. Think there £35 a pop though.
its crazy how much they can charge for a tyre, especially when its something you wear out quicker than most other parts!
will have a look at the specialized ones, im sure theres some bargains in the january sales

I'm on 2.4 Bonty XR4s, they seem quite good at everything except claggy mud. They're like riding through treacle but they eat rocks for breakfast. Ace in the lakes, not so great up on the moors.
I got em for a bit over £25 from JE James.

I've got a pair of maxxis advantage 2.4 that have 3 rides on them.. they were just to big and heavy for me. Not duel ply (i don't think) mail me if you're interested

Maxxis Advantage, come up large compared to previous Maxxis tyre, the 2.1 is prob at the 2.25 high roller size. Go for them in the 62a or 60 compound and you can use them all year round.

Another for Eskars, been running them all year and they ride and wear well, gonna try some XR4 Bontys as i hear great things about them.

Various Specialised (Eskar, Purgatory, Butcher) and Bontrager (XR4). Run them tubeless (which they do well) to avoid snakebites as they're more pliable than similarly grippy Maxxis.
