Angels is quite good, not as full on as some of the others and fairly "enjoyable".

I tried a few but couldn't really get on with any of them.. bang go for it!! etc but the guys on the screen are still bumbling along or its the same footage looped.

In the end I prefered a routine of warmups, ascending intervals and warm down, whilst choosing my own music.

Revolver will make you work hard, as long as you want to, and will be over quickest. Rubber glove, although a fitness test is a good (?) work out.

If you're still looking at the screen you're not grovelling enough!

+1 for Angels as a nice introduction.

Recommend you take a look at TrainerRoad too, particularly if you already own a Garmin or Ant+ device. Think it's free for the first 30 days try out...

Angels is my favourite for intervals.
Downward Spiral is the hardest
Fight Club has better footage

All three will condition different aspects. But DS is a killer if you do it properly. All have some excellent humour.

Theres nothing remotely enjoyable about a sufferfest video. Every time I stuck on Angels i knew I was in for 50 minutes of misery.

That said, it brought on my fitness no end, and even though I've now got a VR trainer, I'll defo still be using it.

One thing I found was that the effort levels were quite hard to gauge. My turbo had a power meter, which really helped me gauge how hard I should be working, so trainer road is probably a good idea.

Yep, it became a lot tougher having something to measure perceived effort...no hiding!

Blender. Good workout - plenty of variety, looks pretty in HD, lots of interest.

Angels is a good one to start on. Revolver is one of the shortest but for me it's 45 mins of stem chewing grunting.

Angels is "good", better than any of the YouTube freebies. 60 minutes of it seemed much shorter than 45 minutes of the YouTube ones.

Enjoy Sufferlandrians ๐Ÿ˜ˆ

Did 'Angels' yesterday - it's BRUTAL! Why the hell you have to follow Schleck up the first hill at a 9 'pain rating' is beyond me!

I like the footage and humour though.... thanks for the suggestions!

Do you need to have cadence and power meters for it to work?

I think it would be easier to gauge levels and be more consistent - but all I have is my bike, turbo and laptop.

All result in pain! You can either scientifically measure the effort you are putting in or guess the effort whilst thinking that watching a Sufferfest videos was a silly idea

You can use heart rate also, that's what I do. Power meter would be better but too expensive for me. I find without hr it's easy to start slacking.

No not needed at all but cadence is useful as there's a lot of cadence recommendations throughout the videos. The hardest thing is gauging your perceived exertion rate.

My favourites are The Hunted, he'll hath no fury and Angels. I've heard good things about the 2hour Giro one as well.
