My Orange Gyro has developed an annoying problem. It's set up with XT 3x10 (with a shadow+ mech), on a raceface evolve crankset up front.
When dropping down from the middle ring to the granny ring under mild to moderate load, the chain is getting properly jammed between the rings, eating a 4-5 link portion of chain. Unjamming it requires undoing the granny ring trailside to pull the chain out. The Front derailleur is lined and set up perfectly otherwise, chainline is correct but it won't stop eating my chain!
I'm on the verge of dumping the raceface c'set for an XT double, but in the mean time, any ideas?
Try switching under a little less load. Also if new chain + old chain rings I'd get a new granny. When worn they have like a little hook that pulls the chain round. Also is chain correct length? Also try lubing the chain up more.
I find I get chain suck with raceface rings. Not sure why? Maybe try another manufacturer. Ive not had any problems with shimano or hope rings.
