Looking for some new wheels but gotta be sub 200 . Options at min are fulcrum redmetal sl 29er or poss at a push halo freedom disc. The superstar option looks good too the switch evo hubs and the xc 29er rims for 160 any feedback from any of these or any other suggestions. Been looking at used too but they seem to be budget or top bling

Halo are great rims and the wheels seem to be pretty good.

Not a lot of choice out there at your price point i'm afraid. CRC appear to have stopped selling Sun Ringle 29ers (i have the Chargers and they've been very good) and most other options are way more expensive. I've looked at the Fulcrums before and they appear fine although i've not tried them. I have a Halo Freedom on the front of my SS and it's been good but it is 'burly' and not the lightest you'll find - although it future proofs you as you can run the hub QR/15mm/20mm. Failing that, you can ask in the classifieds or wait for ebay as something usually turns up. I got my Chargers off the classifieds for £200 (new and unused, less than half price) my Bonty Race 29ers (few weeks old) for £145 and a set of SS bonty's off ebay for £95. Depends how much of a hurry you're in?

I've just had a set of the Fulcrums delivered and first impressions are good, they are very stiff and roll really well, plus the freehub is very quiet.

I paid £159.99 from Wiggle, they had a 20% off wheels offer a few months ago so I ordered them as it said they expected stock in a few days. The stock didn't arrive and on the end I waited about 8 weeks!

Got (well, will have in 5 days) pair of Halo Freedom 29er wheels for sale.
Black Halo hubs, spokes, rims and spokes.
New bearings in rear, one in the front has 'slight' play but nothing that effects performance (new set £25 fitted)
Comes complete with QR, 15MM and 20MM adapters for the front spin doc hub.
Freehub unmarked and spins well.

They are a used set, both pretty much true, slight run out on rear but again it doesnt notice.Few trail strikes.
Both IS 6 bolt with 12 good threads for the rotors.

Mail me if interested.
Mail in profile.

I've been using the fulcrums for a year now and they've had a hammering. Still true. Would buy again.
