Finally some (teeny tiny) improvement! 86.5 @ 287 now robbo.

I'll let you guess which is FTP and which is kg, I'm not so sure recently.

It seems Zwift is less keen than I on half kilos 🤣

@zilog6128 you got a link to that? Looks great.

There is a broadcast version of zwift but I don't think it is something just anyone can get access to.

@nixie it's not anything that's available for download or actual use, I'm sure you could message the guy though to ask advice if you wanted to try to recreate something similar! It is extremely cool.
Here's his thread: https://forums.zwift.com/t/request-to-release-zwift-semi-public-api/575162

@slowpuncheur I don’t think I’ll be up front with the spicy riders this time, I’m still suffering the tail end of the cold that stopped me racing last week.

2 laps of Yorkshire tonight (opposite way round to the TTT last week for those who rode that!)

Good luck all!

Well owing to this being my first week of concerted effort to exercise properly I was expecting to struggle a bit tonight. now thanks to a patch of mushy leaf litter on the commute this morning as he a fairly heavy landing I'm a bit sore, so maybe even less competitive than the not very competitive I envisaged.

However, course report, Harrogate is a bit wet this morning, lots of leaves and detritus on the road following the wind over the last few weeks so stay away from the margins especially, but it's a good temperature for racing at least.

I hate Harrogate. Even when it's going down, it feels uphill...

Nightmare! Hopefully nothing worse than a bit of bruising?!

This course looks tough, but I'm oddly looking forward to it. I rode it on Monday on a workout, but you can't really get a feel for it with ERG on, so it will be an interesting one.
I need to make a more concerted effort to stay with people on the hills - I quite often let a gap open at the start of the hill & then struggle to reel it back.

I really enjoyed last week's race, so hoping for more of the same tonight.

Just bruising I think. Hand hurts and hip is nice shade of purple already and stiffening up but hopefully that will ease up a bit as the day goes on.

Enjoy - I saw him a couple of years ago in Peterborough & he was very funny. He spent quite a lot of time taking the pee out of all the racist brexiteers that inhabit the fens and seemed to revel in it.

@msjhes2, that's a shame, I was looking forward to a good tussle tonight, wasn't sure how I'd make 50 secs on you. Enjoy the Ice climbing, we can lock horns next week 🙂

I won't be racing this evening as I'm rather sore.

Will see how the ride home feels before I decide if that means attending and whimpering my way round or feeling sorry for my self in front of the telly.

Late in the day I know @robbo1234biking but when it comes to placings I’ve managed to get my weight back to 73kg so handicap will need adjusting.

Have a good one! 🚴‍♂️🔥😰

Oof..Great breakaway early by nixie.... felt too hard for me, sav, and donnely to catch up!

Let's felt OK sitting at 3-5w/kg.... but struggled to peak above 8/kg on the climbs amd sprints!

If you wanna watch again 🤣🤣

First race in ages. Got on 2nd group then somehow had the legs on the last big climb did a big effort then broke away for last 5k. Loved it but buggered now utterly buggered

I hate Harrogate.

That was horrible… might have salvaged some sprint points, not sure how far ahead of me the finishers were…

Urgh. That was horrible. Unplanned breakaway follow by lots of hurt opening then trying to hold a gap. You nearly closed that down at the end.

Nearly.... but no cigar!
I think if we pushed a bit as a three, TT style, in the shallow bits,... maybe...

But a well deserved win!

I spanked myself... TWICE.... catching up each lap after the kom and sprint.... just couldn't put down the high watts needed to maintain the climb!
Post COVID legs 🦵 🤣🤣🥴🥴🤷‍♂️
My max Watts was only 680 odd...

That was horrid, lost the top 5 1/2 way up the 1st hill, then dug deep to try and make a 2nd group with D.Riley & John B, but we only ever got 3 seconds and the other 2 didn't seem fully committed to it, I looked down to write and encorragin message but we had been caught before I even managed to send it.

Watching the replay, it looks as if those that made it in the split didn't have an easier ride, P.Tunstall, Robbo C.Donnelly and B.Clark all getting dropped and swallowed up in our chasing pack.

It all stayed the same until near the end, I'm not sure where, and I just couldn't keep the pace any more. I rode with A Atkinson, and tried to launch a long sprint, but the burritto didn't deploy as the phone screen was too wet, and I didn't have the legs to stay with the counter attack, so dropped 8 ish seconds to him in the end.

Well done all, well deserved win for nixie.

thanks again Robbo, a most painful yet excellent series.

PS. Put in a big effort for the sprint, so will be well niffed if I don't get any points, as that is probably what caused me the suffering later on.

Also no FTP increase !!! WFT is going on !!

I have set up a GoFundMe for people who have enjoyed the series. This time around we are raising money for Diabetes UK. Slowpuncheur has been a regular in this race series from the start. On Fathers Day last year he ended up taking his son to hospital as he wasn't feeling well. Many hours later they were delivered the news that his son is Type 1 diabetic. His son has adjusted well to the changes in life and continues to do everything he wants to. Diabetes UK helps his son and others like him through investment in Diabetes research and support for other Diabetes sufferers. I know there are also others on the forum who have diabetes or close family members with diabetes.
