Just in case anyone is interested in a STW fantasy league for the tour. Those who appear to know everything about the pros - can you pick a decent team?

Am i thick but how the hell do i join?

I've registered, logged in but can't find where to put the code in

To join an existing league, you will need a League Code, which should be provided by the person who requested the league.

Once you have been given the code, go to your team page by logging-in with your username and password, and clicking your team link on the right-hand side of the screen.

There isn't a team link on the ride hand side of the screen!

You have to create your team first, then you go to your team screen (which is fairly obvious once your team exists) and then click join a mini league at the bottom.

To be fair it's not the easiest website in the world to navigate, but it does have the best league IMO.

It took me ages to find the big button on the right 🙂

I'm in.
The credits were pretty generous. I didn't really feel limited in who I could choose.

Really? Two of my riders would be different given an extra 2 or 4 credits or so. Given an extra 10 or 20 and everything would change..

I didn't really read the scoring system. Hopefully they've balanced it so that if your riders are doing well by any measure, then it counts!

Although I just did a search on Lanterne Rouge and it didn't show any points - shame - it should have been a bonus team member with bonus points for furthest back!

Well I can't work out how to join in! I've logged in and I see the list of riders but when I select one I get an error like:

The requested URL /tdf/riderprofile.php was not found on this server.

What am I missing?

That's ok - that's what I got too - look for a link to the right saying create team or something like that. I can't see it now that I've got a team.
They've got some very simple things on this site, very wrong!

Click on your team name, then at the bottom of your list of riders there's an option to do so.

I'm in - luckily I have no idea who's on form or even in the race
(is it safe just to asume that all those listed will start unless they're injured or do we have to do even more work before the off ?)

(no Jens for me - may have to change that)

Not really, one or two who are listed are actually subs. Worth checking using the official tdf website.

mrlebowski - I just tried to find it to 'listen again' and couldn't.
Was it a particular programme or anything. It's probably got lost amongst the Wimbledon stuff.

The Big Chinned Wheel Suckers are in. Ironically not featuring the big chinned wheel sucker 😕

Anyone else wonder if the points budget is a bit generous? I thought I would have to choose some proper (admittedly pro) nodders, but I'm fairly happy with my team!

BTW if you want to download from iPlayer to listen later (as I am with the TdF programme) you can use

http://www.nerdoftheherd.com/tools/radiodld/

navigate to sport>5 Live Sport> and its in the list of programmes available.

Was just like that, but have finally settled down and am now vaguely happy with my line up. I'm sure they're all going to crash and pull out in the first week though.

One day remains to get your team in.. 😀

The official tour site has a riders list. If they've got a * by their name it means they're a sub and won't be in unless someone pulls out today.

ARGHHHHH

Am I being stupid or is the velo games website impossible to sign up to?

Every time I try and register a new account it keeps on repeating the message 'username not alphanumeric'. Doesn't seem to make any difference whether I include a number in my username or not.

Help!

Sounds like you're trying to put a symbol in. Alphanumeric means letters and numbers, not ;'#]][£$%^&*( type things.

Deadline has now passed. 88 teams will battle it out over the next 3 weeks to decide who is the most all knowing and wise of all the STWers. Or the luckiest. Depends if I win or not.
