Following the success of the Lakes and Rivington rides I thought we might continue the monthly outings with a trip round Arkengarthdale and Swaledale.

Meet up in Reeth around 9.30ish for a 10.00 start - probably be about 25 lowey style miles but with a lot less gates.

If Donk comes I have a special extra loop for him!

Interested??

You mean this one? then yes. I think it will be the same route as we did with Frank with the option of the bast@rd climb back to the top just to come down again that you enjoyed so much!

BTW DJ, if you go up Fremington, you can turn left at the gate and follow the wall along to the downhill instead of taking the BW to the chimney...

Mike - I think we might be able to manage a lift so keep the date available. Will be in touch nearer the time. 🙂

Would love to make it - prior Enduro6 engagements tho!

It really is an awesome place. I'll be up in June for the annual Swaledale Marathon (non MTB crazy fell run) - no.8 this year!

Is the proposed pace of this ride suitable for a fat knacker just getting back on the bike after a lay off ,
And can also offer a lift from the skipton area if it is not a race round

Why not use the Ventana in only ONE gear . . .

Trout - as lowey said of the Rivi ride - a relaxed pace. 8)

OK count me in unless it is horizontal hail stones as I have been on top of fremmington edge with them and it was not fun .

Ton not bothered about being at the back ( i have got used to that now ) just dont want to hold the group up too much .

So will you all be going to Stu and Brenda Price's place at Fremmington,
Dales Bike Centre. Be a big shame not to give Brenda's cakes a go plus get your bike clean.

<puts hand up>

given the repeated use of 'relaxed' and 'pace' in the above thread I feel qualified to attend and not make meself look too big a twunt!!

is there anywhere bike friendly to stay local to the start point?
Current plan is to drive up with MrsMM on the Saturday and have good look round the area, pub tea and all that. Sunday Mrs MM will doubtless find the local craft outlets whilst i ride the bike 8)

Wont be doing it this year now, been credit crunched out of the trip.......suppose I still could but all about priorities:((

I've no doubt if we go out riding enough you'll be there at some point to see me do something very stupid:)

I hope someone else is coming up with another route for a month after this Swaledale trip - getting quite into these rides now, really looking forward to it:)

"I hope someone else is coming up with another route for a month after this Swaledale trip" ....happy to do something.

Simonralli mentioned a Stanes ride so how many willing to travel to Dumfries?
My speciallity is extended rides around Mabie and Dalbeattie.
Can do the same for Ae but it means a bit of a hike through some trees and on to the top of a hill then follow some quad tracks. Then some farm track followed by some road back into Ae????

Can also do big day rides around the Lowther hills out of Thornhill/Drumlanrigg/Durisdeer

Got a good ride out of Moffat using the Southern Upland Way over to Same Ling centre and back. Again a bit of hike a bike for those that can hack it.

Then there is the Howgills

Just along the raod from Reeth is Hawes. Some good riding out of there over to Ribbleshead Viaduct and down to Dent and Horton in Ribblesdale and Kudu cycles.

Then there is Bowderdale. Start at Tebay?

Obviously tons of stuff in the Lakes.

So if you fancy doing any of that in June with Si and me or into early July(before 18th)post up.

June weekends I`m free are 6/7th and 13/14th
July 4th/5th and 11/12th
