first timer - deliberating on SS rigid or with suspension.

I've not been for a year or so (distance rather than any other issues). The marked routes are fine for hardtails and probably SS (no experience of them myself), you certainly don't "need" a full suss - mostly nice easy flowing singletrack through the woods, though prone to mud after heavy rain. It's the easiest trail centre I've ridden, and I am truly awful on a bike.

And the carpark is about a zillion pounds an hour to park.

Very expensive ( £ 13 per car I think ), for what it is, but quite fun in parts.
To be avoided when Muddy though .
