Plenty of notice for folks to sort their stuff out.

Next instalment of the highly successful STW (northern chapter) rides is a tour of the Industrial Fells.

Meet at Waterfoot for 9.30ish riding for 10. 30ish miles in Rossendale taking in Lee Quarry for the benefit of "Team Darlo" so they can justify the trip. It will be moorland tracks, packhorse routes and quarries and will go up and down (lots). If its wet, it will be muddy, however, unlike the North York Moors ride, you wont need a chisel to remove it from your bike. Plenty of pub / refreshment stops are on the ride too.

So .... who fancies it.

I am purely acting as a mouthpiece on this ride for Graham, who cant be arsed registering on this forum. So all my answers may or may not be accurate.

Yeah, I'll be there, positively local for me compared to last sundays 🙂

Has anybody booked the weather yet? Sunshine with patchy cloud seemed to work ok on the last couple of rides, so we'll have the same again whoever's in charge.

Cheers

You can all pre enter the first race of the 2nd Brownbacks series at Lee Quarry on the 6th and complete several quality laps, then continue onwards for another 25miles ! 😛
Racing between 10 and 12.

Rick.

Now it's official I'll try & sort a kiddie swap. Will confirm by weekend.

Know the area very well so can chip in with route suggestions if required. Talked at length with Graham at pub on Sunday about this one. Should be able to cobble together a real cracker.

I suggest that depending on time you try and see the racing and/ or just visit the event "hamlet" before/ during/ after as we have bacon butties available this series and there should (hopefully) be a couple of stands flogging off some cheap bike gear

Graham knows the score and will make sure you deconflicit with the race route/ timings.

Those who are missing the ride out to marshal for us extra big thanks and we hopefully will be doing a little more for the marshals this year on top of the £50 prize draw, free drink and snack etc

I went over the ride with Graham last week and I think the idea is to end up at Sue's (The Buck Inn, Cowpe) or the Hargreaves Arms up Burnley Road East, either way a good ride is in order.

Unfortunately MrsI is working on ICU that weekend and my riding has to take 2nd place (I've tried to explain it to her believe me! ;o) )

I'd be very grateful for a copy of the route so that I can try it at a later date though.

Thanks
John

Bump...although it's not good news for me. Ex-Mrs F playing plain awkward says she's "busy" that weekend so can't swap 😥
