most people, in my opinion, cant transfer straight from flats to spd so why not have both? in my opinion i prefer both even though i'm so used to riding clipped in when i'm unclipped feels wrong, in my opinion.

SPD one side flat, pedal on the otherside
They are like new.

Remember when planning this route we need to have access for Skiprat to follow in the support van with your large screwdriver.

Has anyone mentioned a start time, can we do it in the morning so those of us dragging SO's behind us can get some afternoon delight in at the hotel afterwards?

erm, average speed of about 6 mph. With cake. And falling off. And looking at nice views.

I like these rides to be inclusive. No racing off and that kind of thing

DenDennis anyone is welcome. Its an anti-clique IMO, join in, drop out and rejoin whenever at any date in the future. You don't have to say 'sorry I cant make it'- if you can great. If not- theres always the future.

Hello Peaks folks - am planning on coming down to Sheffield for Easter weekend and riding Jacobs ladder (from Edale, to Mam Tor & Castleton) o Friday, followed by Cut Gate & various possible Ladybower loop extensions on Saturday. I will post something up separately in the next day or two but thought I'd post it where your attention is first.

If anyone fancies any of that let me know. Cheers.

okay, never mind not falling off, massive bruises on my hips from landing on the drive, and bruises on my knees from where the bike fell on me 🙁 will persevere, but if I decide they aren't for me, I will have some very slightly used Scott comps shoes for sale 😛 Skiprat, that'd be good, will make sure I have enough pocket money by then. might have a job at the lbs soon too 😀 😀 wages will be spent on bike parts anyway 😆

It has just clicked with me that the 27th is when I'm doing my charity bike maintenance class. So I won't be coming, sorry. Shame really as it's a good route.

And the average speed of the ride should double without me there. 🙁

(.....but the average speed downhill will halve??..... ;-)....)

Back on the bike for the first time today (after breaking my wrist), it was difficult riding on the road with it. I'm hoping I might be OK by next weekend, but I'm not optimistic 🙁

becky_kirk43 how long has it been in plaster? Speak to your Doc. I broke my left wrist three times- its now overbuilt 😯

Ps. Anyone have a spare set of forks you can lend me? If not will run my borked Lyriks and send back after the weekend.

Yes, thats another set of RockShox's that have broken on me.

konage - people will arrive on the full range of bikes. On every pootle so far there's been at least one crosser so you'll be fine, if a lot faster than the rest of us!

Chris - that fake tan is rubbish
