Hi,
Does anyone know what the warranty is on Specialized fsr bearings? mine have just gone after 1 year and 4 days. Is a DIY job easy? where is the best place to get good quality bearings?
Many thanks.
Tried a warranty claim with my last fsr and was basically told it was wear and tear and thatvwas around a year also, bought a 2012 fsr stumpy in may, one of the first things i did was check the grease in the bearings, very very little, I have noticed the stumpy bearings are a lot better sealed than on my old fsr xc, still, bought it in may and have cleaned and regreased twice now, something your better to keep on top of..
I see cheers, I've bitten the bullet and taken it to a dealer to be fixed for £115! argh!
Bearings are about 40quid (well they were for an 06 enduro)
Its not too bad getting em out and back in again with a hammer / screwdriver and a vice but the dropout pivots are a right bugger.
Managed to get em all except those ones - Woodrups charged 12 quid to get em out and depending on how things go with my powder coating, they may have to put em back in again.
Cheers, I do worry about hitting my bike with a hammer I'm a bit hamfisted ha ha. The guy in the shop said its 2hrs labour at £35 an hour.
£115 is no too bad I would have thought, I paid more than that two years ago, cant remember exactly but think it was around £130..I would rather pay my specialized dealer the money to take the bearings out with the proper tool tbh.
Just had my 2011 enduro's bearings done, full set replaced for £90 at my local Specialized dealer, i was happy with that.
Cool, well i'm sure I'll be happy when it comes back like new 😀
Its a rather time consuming job esp if any of the bearing have failed and left the outer race in the hole
They Normaly last longer than 12 months unless your found of the pressure washer
Spend the money on a slide hammer and collet extractor then in a years time it wont cost you a fortune to do them again
