A friend quoted been quoted a massive amount for removing a carbon seat post from his alu frame. Looks like the post needs destroying to remove. Any ideas how much this should cost and who could do it in cheshire/manachester. Any ideas for doing it DIY.

Have you tried gently heating the area. Ali should expand while the carbon should shrink a little. Advice given in an old thread.

This. Try a hair drier on its hottest setting on the seat tube so it gets nice & warm, then try to rotate the saddle back & forth.

i had something similar, stuck carbon post in carbon frame.

Daunting as it sounds and probably a last resprt, i just took a hacksaw to it and cut it across about 1" from the top of the seat tube then crushed the carbon post. it pulled out really easily then.
