After some advice please, currently using Strava via android phone, was gonna buy an Edge 500 for heart rate info but just bought a forerunner for the mrs who runs occaisionally, can I just borrow hers and upload the info into Strava? not arsed about mapping/route following capability really

I use a forerunner with stava. If you just want to upload your rides then there is no difference between the units, other than you can add a cadence sensor to the 500.

You can add a cadence and speed sensor to the forerunner 305 and the newer models also.

Not bothered about cadence either thanks... varies from pedalling squares to spinning out on fire road descents so not too relevant offroad 😉
