[#1869797]

Both CRC and winstanleys had a bike on offer for £1439 instead of £1780(ish) that I was interested in.

CRC only had the smaller size on offer whereas Winstanleys had all sizes.
I emailed CRC to ask if they'd match the price to fall in line with the smaller size and Winstanleys.

CRCs response was no we can't do that and immediately put the price of the smaller one back to full retail, Winstanleys followed suit.

A bit strange methinks.

Not really important as i now won't be buying at full RRP but I find it a bit odd how they reacted!

Would I be right in saying you were looking at the Cube Agree GTC Race? CRC only had 54cm & Winstanley's only had a 58cm - until yesterday when I bought it!
I too noticed today that the price had gone back unto full RRP so I'm glad I got in there yesterday!

Probably the last one of each, and the price has gone back up as any more will be from the Importer, and not out of their own warehouse/shop.

Shop marked demo/display and they dropped the price to try and avoid complaints when it's delivered?

That would be somewhat contravening the sale of goods act!
If it were a demo it could not legally be sold described as 'new' if it were anything other than new, unless the other party (me) were made aware.
It's obviously possible that it is a display unit but does that really matter?
They told me it was having to undergo a PDI before delivery so obviously not been 'on the road'.
I've used Winstanley's many times in the past and always found them to be helpful and reliable etc.
I'll update when it turns up.

There was a computer cock up which triggered the price reduction, so I'm told by a reputable source.

Nothing to do with demo bikes, shop soiled or last one in the shop.

Could be a computer error, but seems unlikely as the price was the same at both Winstanleys and CRC!

It was a computer error, but not @ Winstanleys or CRC.

Computer error or not it turned up on Wednesday as promised by Winstanley's and at the price advertised - £1439.
Well happy with it. Went on our first 40 miler this morning which absolutely flew past! Dave the Yeti's gonna be taking a bit of a rest for a while...why do I feel guilty?!?

I give up. I can't get the bloody photo to appear!
