I think SJS Cycles also sell their own version although it is a bit simpler in execution.

I've just swapped out my XT pods for Dura-Ace bar-end on SJS brackets to fit my Titec H-bars - Works a treat! I like the friction option too.

Cheaper/neater to get old XT thumbies if you can
^ no 9 (or 10!) speed though with old XT
Leave them on friction and you can have whatever speed you like
