Looking to purchase a coil for the LTc and was wondering about which spring I would need.

I've used the TFT calculator and it states a 400lbs (actually 397) but i have read that on a DHX4 or RC4 you should go 1 weight down.

I use the LTc as my bigger bike and will still keep the air shock for when a coil is just not necessary but don't want to get a spring which is too light as I still want the bike to go up hill and not fear bottoming out.

Im 12.5st without kit so whadda' you reckon?

I run a nomad with a coil shock (dhx5). Spring weight at moment is 450, bike rides fine both up and down although i suspect it would perform better with a 400 (well on the downs anyway). Body weight is 13 stone.

See if you can pick up a couple of cheap steel springs at different weights and experiment.
