[Closed] Straitline 'Vertical Wedge' stem - why so specific on steerer length?

On the instructions for this stem, it states "steerer tube must be trimmed to a maximum of 35mm above headset components"...

So does this mean I can't use a spacer or two??

What will happen if I do? I don't fancy having to cut my steerer so damn short!?

Will be due to clamping mechanism, can't see why there'd be any issue with spacers.

i suspect the 'headset components' includes spacers

ahhh... good to hear! actually, reading a bit further into the instructions it says "slide stem onto steerer tube until stem comes into contact with headset or headset spacers"

So, it appears the simple answer is "read the ****in instructions properly" ๐Ÿ˜† ๐Ÿ˜ณ

Guess it'll be fine... just means no spacers above the stem I suppose?

I kept a spacer above mine until I decided on stem/stack height. Some topcaps fit onto the stem once steerer is cut to correct length, some dont, I bought a straitline one anyway in the end.
