Just spent the morning fitting a set of new braccianos to the road bike, front is great, just spins and spins. Rear doesn't spin as much as the mavics they are replacing and if you leave it to freewheel in the stand the cranks do a couple of revolutions.
Any ideas? Have I done up the cassette too tight or should i just ride it and it will bed in?
Sounds like the seals and bearing are a little tight, should loosen up after a few rides
I think I have experienced this with a set in the past. They were fairly new but had to go back for a wee bit of work. Can't remember what it was that went wrong.
Sorry.
Hmmm, how hard is it to open up the freehub? Does it just pull off?
i dont have the braccianos but i have the merano on my cx and mine have always span freely, great wheels
cant help you on how to fix em though
So, think I,ve fixed it, in ca se any one looks at this thread again.... Couple of Allen keys to remove the axle end caps then freehub pulls off. There is a rubber seal between the freehub and the pawls, either that wasn't seated right or it was in the wrong way round. Regreased and reinstalled and it is much much better, freewheeling is within 5 seconds of my mavics on a single pedal revolution now. Lost a mornings riding tinkering....
