how do i know what size it is . 1-1/8 or 1.5 , frame in question , 2002 patriot frame, cheers ,

Take your stem off & measure the steerer
But it'll be 1 1/8"

cheers mate , but i only have a frame , nothing eles , ive been looking at forks as there seem to be 2 sizes , but wasnt sure on the size.wanted to know if there was any place i could messure on the head to tell me. cheers

1.5" looks huge, 1.125" looks normal.
Partiots had 1.125" headtubes, unless yours was some kind of super special one off.
If you'r still unsure, take it to a bike shop and get them to build it, otherwise you'll just break something.
