At Pippingford Park according to a tweet by Aidan.
Entries open in May, hope it is the first half of the month as I am leaving the country for a few months at end of the month.
corrected the date for you! mod
February?
February?
+1. WTF?
that's gonna be cosy for the campers...
Really in Feb ???
September.
Back to real old skool ss shonkiness, event in February, entries open in May. Excellent ๐
wTF are you on about? 17th and 18th Sept
Are you trying to keep us northerners away, by holding it there?
Maybe on the same weekend us northern types should have a SS only ride out in somewhere handy for us?
Please don't start that again - you could have volunteered to run it, but didn't.
If you've never been, Pippingford is an awesome venue. The views and the trails are ace - the main long DH is more like a trail centre than an XC course - huge berms and very, very fast. Lots of other cool bits too. It's where the Nat Champs were last year - have a hunt for pics on BC and you'll get a good idea.

Me play me play
balls! coming back from the alps that w/e. ๐ฅ
cant wait!!! i should have a ss by then.
I'm sure it'll be a great event.
It's the riders that make these things good not the location.
So I'm confused is it Sept? what's the Feb stuff?? ๐
Pippingford was a great place to race, really enjoyed racing there for the Marathon Champs. Looking forward to SSUK!
As stu said, it is the people that make the event what it is.

Blackhound got over-excited and got his months muddled ๐ The thread title said "February" before the mods corrected it to September 8)
I'm fairly Northern (Lancashire) and I'm planning on going. It's not as if we live in a big country or owt, is it??
ta
A park full of freaks and niche haws happen ๐ฏ the "yarkshire crew" will be there and we may just stop off for fish & chips in that there Londinium Town on route......
I wouldnt bother with london fish and chips if your used to dripping fried Yorkshire cuisine using Grimsby fresh fish.
Too much going on in september!!!!Kielder 100,Ruthin Crc,Tour of Ben Nevis.....
Excellent, if all goes well I'll be able to do SSEC, SSWC and SSUK all in the same year..
I'll be fresh from my triumphant (possibly SS) victory at Kielder...except 17/18th is my missus birthday weekend ๐
BP.... thanks for the advice ......Oh well we will just have to find a pie shop on route. We should have taperd our race training programme buy then. Do we need to bring beer as its all piss weak shandy down south I here ?
this fat bloke might be fit by then................ace.... 8)
yup,I'm in ,see you there !
I didn't make a grand announcement as we don't have entries or the fancy website sorted yet but thanks for posting it up Blackhound. It's definitely in September!
Somehow, I think the northerners will cope with the beer. They're all poor and like free beer, right? ๐
Watch it, sunshine...
fun feature on that website: http://www.pippingford.co.uk/contact-location.html
google tells me it is 386 miles! anyone further away?
And free beer !!!!! Its getting better all the time, us poor northern whippet herders love free stuff.
300ish for us lot but may be a bit longer as we tend to get lost when we leave the mother land aka North Yarkshire.
386 mile? and.... it's not close to any big airports either ....
122 miles for me. Ride up to Winchester, tootle along the South Downs Way for a bit then freestyle it up to Nutley.
Don't think I'd get a pass even if I went by car though ๐
Et pour moi - Total Distance: 266.06 mile(s), 428.18 km(s)
Estimated journey time of: 4 hour(s) 43 minute(s)
