Hi folks
Just bought a nee sram 11 speed chain set for my lockdown build. I’m pairing it with a part worn 11 speed KMC DLC chain
Put it all together yesterday but the chain doesn’t want to sit on the chain ring properly (I’ve lined up the narrow wide teeth with the chain links) and when pedalling it sounds awful - like a badly adjusted rear mech
Any ideas what’s happening? Are these compatible or do I need a new sram x sync chain?

They're compatible - I use KMC chains on all 3 of my SRAM 1/ groupsets.
It's likely there's some other problem, or your chain is worn more than you think.
Old chain new chainrings is never good.
Replace the chain with any new 11speed chain of your choice.
Could be that the chain is worn too much - just looking at the 3-6pm position on the chainring and the chain is not sitting in the teeth because it’s stretched rather than not fitting over the narrow / wide profile
Looks like new chain (and prob cassette)
