[Closed] SRAM Rival crank - is the finish a bit rubbish?

Half a dozen rides in and they are looking rather shabby...

Don't usually suffer from any sort of crank rub so don't think it's that. NDS is just the sticker coming apart. DS is the paint chipping off. Typical of SRAM Rival cranks?

Not the cranks but my Rival brake calipers are really losing the decals badly and as far as I know they've not been abraded other than when being cleaned (and that's not nearly as often as it should be!) so maybe it is a Rival 22 thing?

Maybe it is. While I can be bothered to post and whinge about it on here but not sure I care enough to go down my LBS and complain ๐Ÿ™‚

The ten speed ones are better and lighter.

You could remove the shitty logos with your OHs nail polish remover.

Or go for the red chainset which is a fair bit lighter.

Removing logo would help on one side but not with the paint chipping off the other side.

Hmm Red. Does it have the same removeable spider 3 bolt interface?

Don't think so; the new one's have some finicky hidden bolt chainrings. Get a 2nd hand ten speed model.

Don't bother with Force, they're not much lighter/better than Rival, or at least mine aren't.

Pfft not sure I can be bothered to change for a bit of cosmetic unless the LBS make me an offer. Though I must admit I don't like a shabby looking bike.

no what ya mean. 10 speed Rival would be the cheapest option, pretty much like for like in terms of cost. They're not painted either (anodized), and have no logos to rub off.

Mentioned it down the LBS and they said to drop it in and they'd warranty it. Cool.

I've 3 year old rival22 on a CX bike and 1 year old on a road bike. Both still look perfect, not even any heel rub
